11 Raptors Lodge

Pros: We spent only one night but Raptor Lodge is a clean, lovely place to stay in the immediate vicinity of Hoedspruit centrum.

Pros: Raptors is situated conveniently close to good restaurants and the town. The beds were comfortable and the outside shower excellent. We did not use the self-catering facilities so cannot comment on those.

Cons: The house is in need of a bit of TLC e.g. the mozi net had a large hole in it. Finding the location was a bit tricky as the pin location sent via What's App took us on the wrong road.

Pros: Stunning house! The place is very comfortable and beautiful. It's within minutes of shops and restaurants and communication from the host made for an easy check in. An absolute gem!

Beautiful rooms with relaxing outdoor shower.

Pros: The rooms were spacious and luxurious, and the outdoor bathroom was so relaxing. The second bedroom was in a separate apartment but joined by an outdoor area, which meant we had two bathrooms for four of us. It was also within a secure complex so felt very safe.

Cons: It was a little confusing how to find our accommodation, but once the office area called the host it was all very straightforward. I think we just had not received the instructions due to a problem with our phone connecting, not the host themselves. Also the toilet has no door so not much privacy from the main bedroom.

We only stayed for one night, but wished that we had booked for longer

Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful, from arranging transportation from the airport and any early check-in to suggesting places for dinner and breakfast; both of which were less than 5 minutes walk. The accommodation was very comfortable with a lovely secluded outdoor area. We loved the outdoor showers.

Amazing property with great amenities.

Pros: Check-in & out was easy, there is an amazing restaurant near the property and the host went over and above to make the property comfortable.

Cons: The water isn’t hot.

Pros: Such a lovely house with everything I needed. Kitchen fully equipped and beautiful setting. I travel a lot for work and it is so important for me to feel comfortable and safe. They host was so lovely she even helped me ID a bird.

Excellent stay

Pros: The facilitiy had everything required for self catering stay, the bush factor and quitness of the area

Cons: Dstv channels which is external factor, however maybe if streaming services can be offered

Great location and well appointed accommodation - what more could you need!

Pros: This was my second visit to Raptors Lodge as a property. I love the convenience of the location and the well appointed accommodation. The local Spar is down the road and the tourism centre has lots to offer in the form of coffee shops and retail. Loved being able to do a load of laundry :-)

This is a lovely stopover en route to the Kruger Park, very comfortable & clean with good facilities

Pros: Location was great, unit was lovely, outside shower was beautiful, although there was no water the next day so we couldn't use it before leaving.

Cons: We found the signage to the lodge confusing and ended up in the wrong estate initially. Booking.com didn't give us an entry code for the main entrance gate, only for the lock box to access the unit so when we arrived we had to phone for a code. We got to unit 11 and the pin code given for the lock box didn't work so I once again had to phone for help. Turned out we had been moved to unit 16 but no one thought to tell us! We were not provided with an exit code so once again had to make a call. Donna was very helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble for her, but we felt that this could have been avoided by better communication from Booking.com.
