The Red Barn

The cottage was super nice and very spacious. I had a special request and they nailed it!

Pros: We received a code for the gate to enter the property. The keys were already in the door when we arrived. Easy access no fuss.

Pros: Peaceful Farm setting with a dam for bass fishing, springbuck and wildebeest grazing right next to the accommodation. Very neat and comfortable. Will come back anytime.

Cons: The short dirt road to the accommodation is a bit rough, not at all 4x4 bad, just have to take it slow in areas, probably caused by the recent rainy weather.

Fantastic setting out in the country!

Heaven

Pros: Well equipped. Comfortable and peaceful. Clean and beautifully furnished. Amazing view. Quiet and serene.

The beautiful scenery, secluded location and spot-on amenities made for a brilliant weekend away.

Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect for a boys' weekend away. Great firepit, lots of wood provided, well kitted out kitchen, 2 big fridges, comfy beds with fireplaces in each, exceptional hosts. It was also amazing to see how quickly life was returning to nature after the awful fires that the area had just experienced.

Cons: No TV or speakers in the common area but really not a biggie - not what we were there for. John invited us to the main house to watch the rugby anyway.

Ideal place to get together for larger groups!

Pros: We loved the set up - it was ideal for our large group of 11 people to socialise and spend time together. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and kitted out for self catering. Facilities, rooms, bathrooms and living areas are beautiful and spacious. The lovely fireplace in the lounge was very popular and an ample supply of firewood was appreciated. The area surrounding the Red Barn is just wonderful - with walking trails, a Bass fishing pond, and wild life on your door step. Thank you John and Claire - thumbs up on hospitality!!

Cons: The access road is in poor condition. This is not the owners fault, but it's good to know and to be prepared to drive carefully. Sometimes we could hear the main road - it's not too disruptive, but there are moments that aren't entirely peaceful and quiet.

Connecting to nature

Pros: The quietness, nature,animals. The house and more over the fireplace.

Cons: The fact that the games were out of use and needs to be repaired.

Such a nice getaway and perfect spot to disconnect

Pros: Beautiful plot of land and would definitely recommend! The owners provided wood for the fire places and are very friendly! Loved the bathroom with the bath in the main room and a fireplace

A great accommodation a bit out of Dullstroom which is ideal for a little getaway.

Pros: Great accommodation, loved the Dairy Cottage and would definitely come back for a longer stay to enjoy both the red barn and Dullstoom some more. It is nice and quiet and has some really cool amenities that make it a great and unique stay! The hosts are nice and really easy to talk to.

Cons: The signal was horrible, could not get any signal no matter the provider, there is however a spot away from the cottage that can get a signal. A fairly long dirt road, much like most of the venues in the area, recommend a higher vehicle.
