Blyde River Wilderness Lodge

Wonderful.

Pros: The property has everything. It’s a hidden gem, hence it is down a long dirt road….. which is still better than most English tarmac roads. You can find ostriches walking close by and if you venture out a little further on foot into the lodges own reserve; you can find zebras and giraffes. The actual lodge accommodation is second to none. As are the gardens, pools and relaxation areas. (Including restaurant and bar). It’s all set on the banks of the Blythe River. Beautiful. Its staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons: Nothing. If there’s anything not to your liking, just say and they will change it so that it is to your liking.

Great stay in a beautiful setting

Pros: Blyde River Wilderness Lodge is a stunning place surrounded by nature. The road to reach it is easy, especially with the location sent beforehand, and spotting wildlife along the way was a real treat. The food is good, and the whole experience made our stay very enjoyable.

Nice place to stay

Pros: Lovely place to stay, very nice surroundings in a national park. Staff was really nice

Cons: Due to the weather, the intercom wasn't working.

Pros: The place was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The scenery is exceptional and the fact that they wash your car before departure. I am definitely coming back, the pictures don't do justice to the place

Enjoyable

Pros: Evertything was excellent and we really enjoyed every moment. Food was so tasty and served with so much garnish to look beautiful.

Cons: Is it possible to warm up the plates with breakfast and dinner in winter time? Food so tasty but cold before it reaches the table.

Pros: The breakfast and the location are excellent. The luxurious amenities, exemplary services, and prime location are what grabbed my attention to the Lodge. I loved everything! I highly recommend Blyde River Wilderness Lodge for its cozy rooms, friendly staff, serene atmosphere and customer service.

Peaceful, warm, welcoming and very comfortable.

Pros: The staff were amazing; warm, friendly, helpful and flexible. The only reaosn I don't want to mention names, is that I am sure I would have had the same level and quality of service from all those I met. I loved the exceedingly peaceful location with space between sets of rooms, the immediate view of the river of my room (6) which I think most have. The bed was deliciouly comfortable, and I appreciated the mesh in the windows. The aircon was quiet. The outside dinning area I found enchanting, close to the river with abundant foligae all around. Both inside and outside dinning areas were set up very artistically and attractively. The home baked bread and scones (?) were outstanding.

Cons: With the priviso that the staff were flexible and creative with my dietry needs, and were kind enough to make sure I had eg. unsweetened almond milk, and olive oil instead of butter, It would be fabulous if the lodge could develop some great catering for vegetarians. I also have high cholesterol which I manage through diet..not an unusual condition... so chhese is not an option for me. My error for not suggesting things before I arrived, nevertheless, I think my suggestion would be helpful and welcome to an increasing number of visitors.

Pros: My stay was extremely comfortable and Cynthia and her team couldn't have been more helpful. It's a beautiful tranquil spot along the river and the chalets are beautifully decorated and private. The staff even cleaned my dusty car and windows each morning, a lovely extra touch, also excellent wi-Fi which was a lovely bonus!

Our stay was a very beautiful experience. We would love to visit again

Cons: Network problems 😂, although we appreciated the time out. It was difficult to get hold of anyone outside the lodge
