amazing stay a step away from marakele NP

Pros: The environment was idyllic, with a breathtaking view on the mountains of marakele national park. The cooking was Lekker (I do recommend you book both the breakfast & dinner at the lodge rather than going to Town); Monika's attention made a difference ! Our hosts were particularly friendly.

Pros: I liked the location, especially the view of the mountains in the distance. The food was good, the owners are very friendly and the discussions we had at night interesting. I felt very comfortable.

Wonderful experience

Pros: Wonderful owners who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Monika also cooked a wonderful dinner and made sandwiches for breakfast, as we had to leave too early to have breakfast. Would love to visit again.

A wonderful stay at Marula Cottage

Pros: We stayed for 3 nights and we really loved it. The appartment (suite), the warm welcome by Dave and Monika and the dogs. The view was spectacular. Diner made by Monica was delicious. It was all excellent.

Cons: At first we were a bit concerned about the 2km dirt road with our Nissan Magnite, but we got used to it and it looked easier each time. My wife is affraid of dogs, but she was well introduced to the dogs by Monika. So that went well.

Beauty, Tranquility, Kindness and Care

Pros: We very much enjoyed our stay at the Marula Cottage guest house. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. We enjoyed the scenic environnement, the immersion into nature, the weavers and the bush babies présence, our very tasty meals, the friendliness, the care, the kindness of Monica and Dave, their 5 dogs which are fully part of the family, the proximity of the national park. Thank you for everything.

Great location and super hosts and lots of wildlife nearby.

Pros: Monika was an excellent cook, we enjoyed her dishes in the evening. Dave was an excellent guide who told us a lot about the animals in the park, as well he has great knowledge about trees and birds. In general: a great place to stay.

Very comfortable with stunning view and delightful hosts.

Pros: Stunning location 20mins drive from Marakele National Park. Charming and friendly hosts Dave and Monika, plus array of dogs, looked after us immaculately. Very comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast included, and Monika cooked us a wonderful pasta dish for the evening meal.

Cons: Absolutely nothing, except to warn people that the drive from the main road is pretty bumpy and needs a car with high clearance.
