Great stay

Pros: Fabulous attention to detail..we visited over Valentines and found Champagne, Roses & pillow chocolates on arrival. Loved that all 3 bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms as this is a big requirement for our family. Top quality beds and linen. 3rd Room is detached from the house which my daughter enjoyed. Lounge had a fireplace, big plus for cold evenings. Private splash pool and deck.

Cons: Given that the pool and deck area has an added outdoor kitchen and ice-maker, which b.t.w was a pleasant surprise, I would have loved the braai area to be covered.. especially for when it is raining. The house is far from the main gate, very remote (which is great for privacy) but comes with a lengthy gravel road and longer distance to amenities at the main areas. But again, this is a matter of preference for each individual.

Beautiful experience

Pros: The property was in a beautiful setting, peaceful and private.

Cons: The highlight of this property was Emma the amazing lady who came and prepared breakfast for us each morning. She was unbelievably friendly and made us delicious breakfasts.

Boomhuis is a relaxing bush retreat that we thoroughly enjoyed and would happily recommend.

Pros: We had a lovely stay at Boomhuis. It is a beautifully located property in the bush, offering a peaceful and authentic nature experience. We were delighted by daily visits from animals such as nyala and warthog, along with a wonderful variety of birdlife. We spent most of our time in the outdoor entertainment area, which was incredibly relaxing. Watching the animals while cooling off in the pool was definitely a highlight of our stay. A special mention goes to the housekeeper, Emma, who was exceptionally friendly and started each morning with her bubbly personality and delicious breakfasts. She truly added a personal and memorable touch to our stay.

Cons: The house itself is very comfortable and well equipped, although it would benefit from a bit of general maintenance. That said, it did not detract significantly from our overall experience.

Will definitely be coming back

Pros: OMG I went through all the reviews before booking and i was a little sceptical however,I took a leap of faith and boy i am grateful i did. Everything was perfect and perfect is an understatement. I used the back entrance to Mabalingwe which was the only reason I ended up speaking to the host cause i needed the code and she responded in time otherwise this was supposed to be a no contact stay ( that’s how easy) everything was. Was using a bigger car so no issues with the road. The pics on this app does not match it you must see it for yourself such a beautiful warm house. The cleanliness out of this world. Enough everything (utensils, cutlery etc) we were lucky to get visited but some cute animals every morning which was beautiful to see from the glass house. I am definitely coming back in winter

Cons: The place has a dishwasher, now my kids wants one. Costing me hahaha. There was nothing not to like

Pros: The place is quite and peaceful both day and night. We had all the equipment that we required i.e. cutlery, plates, gas stove, WiFi, tissues etc.

Cons: Your need a hire rise vehicle. Small cars are not suitable for the mountain rides, to get to the property. The directions are also a little tricky to get to the accomodation, but the security officers at the main gate were very helpful in detailed explanation to get to the venue.

Pros: It was beautiful, clean and they have a variety of appliances and cutlery.

Cons: That the third room is not connected to the main house

Pros: We loved our short visit to Boomhuis, it really felt like we were staying in a tree house. The beds and linen were of excellent quality and we particularly enjoyed the deck as well as the bonus breakfast- it was a real treat to have a prepared breakfast delivered each day.

Cons: Maybe going forward - a covered braai? our food got a bit drowned in the rain on our first night, but we managed with the gas stove. Also a pool scoop please!

Pros: The surroundings are exquisite. The additional luxury apppliances sucka s coffee maker ans dishwasher are a welcome bonus. Very neat and extemely clean braai facilities.

Cons: The room where the Ice machine is stored was not as clean as the rest of the property.

Beautiful home in the African bush

Pros: The views are magnificent. One really feels as though one is in a tree house.

Cons: One really does need a higher ground vehicle to travel through the Mabalingwe Reserve to get to the home. We managed with a Toyota Etios, but we had to drive very slowly.

Tranquil Stay

Pros: The peace. the private pool, the entire home was private and very peaceful. Comfortable beds and well taken off home.

Cons: The couch could be upgraded for more comfortable seating. Maybe update and upgrade. Cover the roof to keep the cool squirrel out.
