Good overall.

Pros: The quietness of the place, beautiful garden and lounge area

Cons: No variety for breakfast. Same cereal, only one flavour for juice, same fruits daily. Same music at dinner and breakfast. It’s tiring after 3days. We stayed 5nights.

Pros: The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The breakfasts were lovely.

Cons: The restaurant food was a little sub par. Only ate there 1 night and was only slightly happy with their desserts.

Not long enough 😊

Pros: Everything you need for a very comfortable stay if you’re keen to do day trips in the area. Close to Kruger but at least an hour away from the other main tourist spots. Was only there for 2 nights, if we’d stayed longer we would have done more driving. Food and staff are incredible!

Best place ever!

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monkey Thorn Guest Lodge in White River. Rooms were huge and beds absolutely comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast twice and our whole family was blown away by the excellent service we received from the dedicated staff, especially from MC, who always went the extra mile and fulfilled every one of your wishes instantly. Many thanks again, MC! Food was delicious and we were really glad we'd decided to eat at the lodge. We would have stayed longer if we could have and we really hope to stay there again some time near. You really won't find a better place to stay at!

Loved our stay

Pros: Superb lodge. Staff are great, food excellent, accommodation huge and very clean. The gardens are a real treat and the location was perfect, close enough to town but peaceful and quiet.
