The Good Host

It was awesome, we enjoyed our stay

Pros: The quietness, the sound of the river , it felt like home , the house was soo clean, comfortable and had everything needed for cooking .

Cons: Getting there , I don’t know how many times we passed the place because we couldn’t see it clearly , a bigger board written “ The Good Host “ would come in handy , it’s a high way , one can get hit by cars or rather cause accidents

Pros: The place is exceptional we have a peaceful weekend

Cons: I need a visible sign on the gate so we can indicate way before getting in because we can get bumped behind by other cars. Also, the dstv issue..

Pros: The place is amazing, and the river view beyond perfection.

Pros: I loved the location. The sound of the river. So many birds. Lovely walk around the grounds. Huge rooms and bathrooms.

Cons: There were a lot of spiders but this is not the hosts fault.

Well-Equipped, Comfortable Stay with Lovely Surroundings

Pros: The place is absolutely immaculate and nestled within a beautifully maintained garden that adds a serene and welcoming charm. The kitchen is impressively well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and convenient stay. All the rooms are generously spacious, making it easy to relax and unwind. A lovely touch was the high-quality soaps provided in the bathrooms — a small detail that really enhanced the overall experience.

Cons: The property is situated near a busy road with frequent truck traffic, which I initially thought might be a concern. However, the lush garden view quickly draws your attention away from it, and once inside, the rooms are well insulated — we could not hear any noise at all. They’ve also cleverly preserved a small cluster of pine trees, which likely helps buffer the sound. Overall, the setting still feels peaceful and relaxing. It was also a bit of a pity that we didn’t have access to the large fire bowl shown in the photos. That said, the Weber provided was more than adequate for having a great braai.

Pros: Location is perfect! Rooms are huge and beds are comfortable l.

Cons: More kitchen utensils and perhaps a complimentary coffee in the room.

Pros: Clean, fresh, modern and beatifull location and view.

Cons: Long walk from original parking spot. That was changed though and we were able to park next to the chalete

Pros: I love the location, the peace an quiet, the friendly staff and how easy they make themselves scarce.

Cons: I love my four legged friends but at times it felt a bit too much. they can come visit but once in a while not all the time. i think we were spoiling them with food as well. no stove :-(

Pros: The setting was located on a lovely flowing river. It was very tranquil and peaceful. There was space to walk and clear your mind. The sunset over the valley was beautiful. The cottage was immaculate.

Cons: Dogs roaming free. I love animals but feel any visitors must be made aware of the dogs running free on the property. The dogs were very friendly but some people are not comfortable with big dogs running free on their weekend away.
