A lovely place to rest

Pros: A wonderful place to be. House and rooms are very well equiped with love. Very good dinner on private fireplace. Hosts are so helpful and friendly, they even organised a birthday surprise. Thank you so much. Anytime again 🙏🥰🙏

One of the best in a panoramic setting!

Pros: This establishment is situated in the most panoramic setting with a tranquil garden wrapped around the guesthouse. Daleen is such a friendly host and went out of her way to make our stay special. The decor is exeptional and the linen of good quality. The kitchen is well appointed and the honesty bar is a bonus. This is a serene getaway that comes highly recommended.

Cons: It will be nice to have mirrors in the rooms close to electricity sockets.

Best start for our round trip through the north east of South Africa

Pros: We stayed at Ploughman‘s Rest for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed it. The villa is very comfortable and nicely decorated. Daleen was just wonderful and spoiled us with a great breakfast and the best typical South African dinner every day. We enjoyed her ideas for exploring the surroundings a lot as well as talking to her about the farm. Ploughman“s Rest was the best place to start our roundtrip through the northeastern regions of South Africa. We would love to come back next time and highly recommend Ploughman“s Rest when visiting the Blyde River Canyon region

We will come back!

Pros: So nice place to stay! We had a lovely time. We had booked a dinner that was very good, we sat outside in the evening, close to a small fireplace, the food and the expirience sitting there in the dark was magic. Very good breakfast, the owner, Daleen was very friendly and gave us great tips what to see in the neighbourhood. We traveled for three weeks in SA and this was our best guesthouse during the trip.

A wonderful, peaceful and enjoyable stay

Pros: The place is situated in an area that is calm and enables you to recharge and think. It is surrounded by greenery as an agricultural holding - it would be perfect especially for city children.

Exceptional place to stay with a fantastic hostess!

Pros: We had an exceptional stay at Ploughman's Rest! It was our first time to South Africa and Daleen welcomed us as if we were family. It was great to have not only two rooms but a kitchen, living area and a porch to relax as well. Daleen was very helpful in providing tips and information to help make our stay really special. We also took the option to have an evening meal which was fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend Ploughman's Rest.
