Pros: The property is very beautiful. I especially liked the stream running behind our chalet.

Cons: The location pin is dropped next to the road while the actual lodge is a long gravel drive away. It would be nice to know the distance from the road in advance

An awesome stay at a game lodge of high quality and exceptional staff.

Pros: The setting was fabulous and the buildings and grounds were exceptional. The design details were practical and beautiful and of high quality. The staff were excellent and picked us up from our lodge for dinner but was only a few minutes walk. Our lodge had thatched robes and the car had its own thatched car parking cover.

Cons: Nothing. But be prepared for a drive on un maintained roads to the lodge BUT through a game reserve passing Zebra, giraffes, wart hogs, Antelopes, wildebeest etc. You will need a 4x4 car.

Pros: Everything is perfect. It looks like they knew what and how I need things. An excellent 5 star bush lodge. Very private with a true touch of nature and animal life. Facilities was awesome. Manager and all stuff are so friendly and helpful. You will forget the stressful world at just first arrival. Very clean and comfortable. You get red carpet attention. Many thanks to the guy who received us and took care of us until we left.

Cons: Nothing. All is so perfect and very clean.

Stunning quick getaway in spacious chalet on a beautiful property with wildlife

Pros: Close distance from Johannesburg. Far yet close enough for a quick getaway. Excellent maintained facilities. Friendly staff. Gyno was exceptional. Loved the game drive. Spacious chalet with everything one needed and more. Lovely bathroom with extra large bathtub. Comfy bed and bedding. Braai equipped and cleaned every day. Can’t fault this place.

Pros: Magnificent attention to detail. Outstanding communication pre-arrival and during our stay. 5-Star facilities. Our 2 night stay will definitely be followed by a longer stay in the future.

Pros: Everything!! The location is so beautiful. The accommodation is outstanding, the experiences they offer are amazing, but most of all, the team at Lichenry are exceptional. They make you feel at home right away. The service is more than 5 star. They make you feel so comfortable. And the food, simply out of this world. Richard is the lynchpin to this phenomenal operation of great service and conservation. He is so knowledgeable about the animals and a fantastic guide and Ranger. Patrick at Front of House makes sure everything is perfect for guests and Doubt, makes sure you are watered and fed with grace and amazing service and humour . I can't say enough about the amazing chef.. The food is as good as any Michelin star restaurant in London. This is a gem of a place that has been hidden too long from the UK traveller to South Africa. It is so with the 2.5 hour drive from Johannesburg. This is South Africa at its best.

Cons: That we didn't stay longer. We could have easily spent a week plus here

Pros: Das ist eine der besten Game Lodges, in denen man seinen Urlaub verbringen kann. Hier passt einfach alles. Hervorragende Küche, bestes Service, sensationeller Barkeeper, liebevoll gestaltete Anlage, und alles unter exzellenter Führung des Managers Gyno.

Pros: Het is een waar paradijs om te zijn en tot rust te komen.

Cons: Er was vooraf veel communicatie terwijl we onderweg niet precies wisten hoe de rit van 400 km zou zijn en niet altijd verbinding hadden om direct te reageren. Uiteindelijk 16.00 uur afgesproken. Ook om nog te kunnen genieten van de faciliteiten. We werden netjes bij de entree van het park opgewacht door de driver die ons naar het restaurant bracht. Daar ook hartelijk ontvangen door de barman. Hij gaf aan dat onze contactpersoon onderweg was voor de incheck. Even later kregen we een drankje omdat de contactpersoon nog bezig was met een gamedrive volgens hem. Nog 5 minuten geduld aub..Uiteindelijk maar weer een drankje besteld en nogmaals excuses. Uiteindelijk rond 18.00 uur kwam onze contactpersoon eraan. Hij was boodschappen voor de lodges aan het doen. U begrijpt, waarom zoveel appjes vooraf om exacte aankomsttijd te willen weten terwijl we uiteindelijk 2 uur hebben gewacht en het inmiddels donker was. De barman heeft uitstekende hospitality services waardoor we even getwijfeld hebben dit te benoemen. Eenmaal bij de lodge gearriveerd met onze contactpersoon zat de sleutel gewoon in de voordeur en was hij met een minuut weer vertrokken. Hadden we dit maar geweten. Jammer dat we zolang moesten wachten voordat we naar binnen konden om te genieten.
