Breathtaking view and excellent lodge

Pros: The view from this lodge is absolutely stunning. Even from the rooms you get a top view of the park and you can see the animals coming to drink from a water hole close to the hotel. Definitely worth the money. The food here was also really good. We only spent one night here which definitely wasn't enough. I would recommend at least a two night stay here to fully enjoy the view and see all the animals coming by the water hole. The rooms are also really nice and comfortable and well equipped and everything was really clean.

Cons: Nothing - everything was perfect

Adventure ride

Pros: The place is very quiet and serene. I went with my 6 yrs old son and I must say he enjoyed himself. He had freedom to run around because we were the only guests at the lodge. The best part about the lodge is that you drive quite a distance inside the reserve before you get there, which is an adventure on its own. Lyson was the only person working there during our stay and he was very friendly.

Cons: The chef from Mopane lodge only came once to prepare our dinner and the rest of our stay we were assisted by Lyson. I understand that the facility is a self catering but when it comes to food, it is always best to have a professional to prepare the meal.

Wonderful bush experience!

Pros: I booked in Lucca Lodge, but because of a function there, I was offered to stay at the nearby Mopane Lodge. Everything was simply exceptional, from the friendly smile at the main gate, to the warm welcome at the reception, the great bar and restaurant service and the excellent food. The staff is very kind and helps you with whatever comes up. The pool area with the view of the waterhole is amazing, we spotted a Waterbucks, a male Lion, a Hippo and lots of other animals during and after sunset. I will definitively come back!

Definitiv ein abenteuerlichicher Aufenthalt

Pros: Frühstück war sehr gut , netter Koch, toller Ausblick auf die Buschsavanne mit Wasserstelle

Cons: Schlecht gekennzeichnet, unbedingt an der Hauptstraße Hinweisschilder anbringen. Nach heftigen Gewittern ist ein Toyota Highlux oder ähnliches Fahrzeug unerlässlich. we got stuck with our Suzuki. Moskitonetz fehlen, wir wurden \

Pros: - sagenhafter Ausblick auf eine Wasserstelle - am Abend mit Beleuchtung - der Koch ist außergewöhnlich gut - südafrikanische Küche mit ausgefallenen Ideen - Wer ganz in den Nordosten Südafrikas reist (zB. Mapungubwe Nat.Park), der ist mit der Lucca Lodge oder Mapesu bestens bedient

Peaceful and picturesque bush getaway.

Pros: The rooms were well equipped and very comfy! Beautiful viewing deck overlooking the watering hole with frequent visits by animals. Lovely pool and braai facilities. Well equipped kitchen that suited all self catering needs.

Cons: The staff were accommodating but it was disappointing not to have complete access to the lounge area and look-out balcony. There seemed to be lack of staff capacity as the bar and lounge area had to be locked up due to passed instances when Management left.
