Makhato 84 Bush Lodge

Located 10 km outside of Bela-Bela on the Sondela Nature Reserve, Makhato 84 is a fully equipped chalet with BBQ facilities. It has a balcony with views of the African Bush. The chalet has a living area with sofas, flat-screen TV and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with corner bath and shower. The 2nd bedroom has 2 double beds. Both rooms have a small patio. The open plan loft has 4 single beds and a balcony and shares a bathroom with the 2nd bedroom. Game drives and nature walks are offered at Sondela. Other activities include mountain bike riding, horse riding, tennis, mini golf and hiking. There are 3 swimming pools in the communal area, a children's playground, a restaurant, take away and a spa. Pretoria is about 100 km away from Makhato 84.

We went out with friends to relax and Sondela Makhato Bush Lodge met our expectations.

Pros: The environment eco system, the animals, peaceful habitant to be even for family vacation. the game drive was super, animal feeding out of this world.

Lots of fun great family break and lots to do for kids this was the first time but we will be back

Pros: Sorry we did our own breakfast but the menu need more options for vegans and salads.

Cons: The curries were not good please use fresh veggies not frozen ones.

Pros: Great place to start our trip, we spotted lots of animals, went cycling and left well rested. Nicola was a great help and adjusted our booking when on arrival our flight was delayed.

Best value for money, perfect accommodation.

Pros: The size of the unit is perfect and the beds are in an acceptable state. The boma is amazing and very useful. The outside table and fridge were very useful as we mostly used this the entire weekend.

Wonderful escape

Pros: The location was superb. The layout of the chalet suited our family. The fact that the unites are spread out, makes it very private and special. The waterhole 30m from the stoep drew many welcome visitors. The children enjoyed the hot and cold pool in our area.

Cons: A fan or two would have been welcome during the first very hot days. No broom to do basic cleaning.

Everything was perfect.

Pros: Very comfortable unit. The kids loved the beds upstairs. Lots of added extras like DSTV and WIFI. Loved our stay and definitely will book at 84 Makhato again. Thank you for hosting us.
