Pros: Quiet, clean, comfortable, neat and value for money

Pros: The room was really lovely and comfortable, very homely. Amazing staff and friendly staff.

It was a great place just to put your head down for the night.

Pros: breakfast N/A. The location to our venue was super convenient.

Cons: Needed to request shower products as nothing had been put out. Could have done with additional coffee as only 3 pods were put out. The noise from the fridge was exceptionally loud.

First impressions last

Pros: Batter Boys Guesthouse is truly a lush hidden gem tucked away in a modern suburb. The property is stunning — beautifully maintained, serene, and a real tranquil escape from the bustle of city life. The rooms and grounds radiate comfort and elegance, making it easy to unwind. What stood out even more was the warmth and professionalism of the general staff. From housekeeping to the receptionists who checked me out, everyone was genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They went out of their way to make my stay feel special, which I really appreciated.

Cons: Unfortunately, my first impression at check-in was disappointing. The person whom I only assume was the manager, who handled my arrival came across as dismissive, cold, and uninterested — as if my presence was an inconvenience. It felt like she didn’t want to be there at all. That kind of attitude and behaviour tarnishes what is otherwise a beautiful establishment and can easily make guests think twice about returning or recommending the property. On top of that, I had to call twice to find out where to go for check-in, wait at an apparently open reception with no one there, then be told to walk to the back of the property, only to be met with a poor representation of the guesthouse’s otherwise high standards. These are details that should be clearly communicated ahead of time to avoid confusion. The warm staff and the comfort of the property ultimately salvaged my experience — especially the receptionists who checked me out and made things right. Because of them, I would consider coming back. But honestly, my stay was somewhat marred by that initial experience at check-in, which is not the first impression such a lovely property deserves.

Pros: Did not make use of the breakfast. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room. The light in the room is also a bit dim. But otherwise it was good.

Pros: Calm, serene atmosphere and location. Comfortable Bed and Clean linen. Spacious Hot Shower and Bath Facilities.

Cons: As an asthmatic and non smoker, having been placed in a room which wreaked of smoke. And Housekeeping entering my room and rearranging my personal items when I requested a few mins later checkout
