Bateleur Lodge

Pros: The place is nicely hidden in the bushes, with free roaming animals around. Tranquil and quiet. Big enough for a large group

Cons: The place needs proper maintenance. Theres a lot of wear and tear, and its minor things that can be sorted out. Kitchen sink, cupboard doors, washing machine, fridges (some dont get cold), shower door at warthog is broken, drain gets blocked (help was sent to fix it during our stay)

I would definitely come back

Pros: Location and area so beautiful and very private. If you are looking for a quiet time with some family in your own space this is it

Cons: The place is beautiful, if traveling with babies please take along their bath bucket or tub with as they only have showers

Excellent and will definitely go back for another stay!

Pros: Beautiful spacious and private accommodation with everything you need right there. We enjoyed the swimming pool and braaiarea while relaxing with family and friends.

Cons: The weather wasn't that great the 1st day, but we had good company so we still relaxed and enjoyed the view.

All in all we had a lovely time

Pros: This property exceeded our expectations with regards to the size and the added (unknown to us) bonus was the DsTV to watch the rugby, a pool table and the lady that came to clean in the mornings.

Cons: There is some maintenance that needs to be done.

Bateleur Lodge, Mabalingwe was the perfect family bush getaway, with many activities for all ages.

Pros: They keys were not at the arrival when we got there, but the security staff were friendly and the keys were brought to us after a couple of phone calls.

Cons: The security staff and reception did not know that we were arriving on the day.

One of our most memorable by far!!

Pros: Mabalingwe is an amazing game reserve with so much wildlife activities to participate in. Truly a great holiday! Loved the hot and cold swimming pools with a fantastic view. Bateleur Lodge was exceptional in the amount of tame wildlife greeting us every day just around the house. The house is very private with its own swimming pool. With wildlife close the only issue was keeping doors closed the whole time especially for monkeys 🙈. That made the house feel a bit stuffy. We LOVE having our windows open normally and letting the outside in. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience!

We enjoyed the tranquility of the bush, with the neighbours being distant to our very private lodge.

Pros: The house is large, roomy and comfortable. Well appointed with enough cutlery, crockery, glassware and kitchen items available. Air conditioning in all the bedrooms worked well. Location is superb, easy access to the reserve and amenities.

Cons: The lodge is showing some wear and tear, but minor, e.g. front patio door jambs have been bent and it's not that easy to open/close. Some of the mosquito screens have also been bent, we suspect rampaging vervet monkeys. Some of the kitchen cupboard doors have been damaged, making it difficult to access the adjoining drawers. Linen on one of the beds quite threadbare with tears. Fans on the patio worked but no extension cords available to plug them in. We bought an extension cord ourselves as the fan helped keep the bugs at bay at night while using the patio. The owners need to attend to these minor issues to make sure the stay is fabulous

Perfect home for a family outing

Pros: Amazing house full of character, lovely holiday home, spacious enough for my big family

Mabalingwe

Pros: The reserve is fantastic, and the location of the Lodge is fantastic.

Cons: The Lodge has not been kept up to standard, and that has let it down. The advertised amenities did not work. The lock to the patio doors i had to phone to get it replaced. The toilet was leaking again. This had not been done before we moved in for our stay. The owner clearly knew about it as the gentleman told me it had to be fixed. The plate in the microwave is missing. The ice machine did not work. The washing machine leaked water all over the Floor and the rubber inside the door were broken and falling apart. I had to call to have this seen to. I was promised it would be sorted, and it wasn't. Travelling from England and paying for these services is rather annoying when they do not work. We had packed clothes and taken into consideration that we could wash our clothes, which we were unable to do. That was very disappointing

Pros: The house was super clean, welcoming and enough bedrooms to accommodate us. The beds were comfortable. Clean refreshing insight swimming pool. More than our expectations we had fun. With the load shedding schedule Lynnette allowed us to check out later than the expected time. Big Upps to that 👍👍
