A modern, comfortable stay with excellent food and friendly service

Pros: Great modern stay with excellent food I had a very pleasant stay at the Marriott. The room and overall hotel design felt modern, fresh, and well executed. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, which made the stay feel relaxed and seamless. The staff were friendly and professional throughout, from check-in to dining, which always makes a difference. Dinner was a standout. We had the Butter Chicken Curry and the Naked Burger, and both were genuinely impressive. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations and was noticeably better than other hotels in the surrounding area. Overall, a very good experience and definitely a property I would consider again.

Cons: The only minor issue during my stay was the limited in-room refreshments. The room was stocked with just one small bottle of water and two coffee sachets. As someone working late into the night, this wasn’t quite sufficient. Aside from that small detail, I had no other complaints and overall the stay was very enjoyable.

Pros: Incredibly comfortable, clean and easily accessible hotel facility. We stayed over night whilst we transited through Johannesburg and it was perfect. The rooms were an appropriate size for 2 adults with 1x suitcase each and carry on bags. The bathroom set up was unique but functioned well- very clean. The access to the restaurant for all meals was great, plus the food was delicious. The free shuttle bus was easy to find at the airport and came regularly, on time. We would stay here again and recommend to other travellers, especially those weary ones from Australia or beyond.

Perfect stop over

Pros: We were in room number 103, the room was pristine clean, linen soft and clean, bed very, very comfortable, pillows wonderful, shower very clean and lovely soft clean smelling towels, i will recommend the Protea Hotel to anyone who needs to stay over for a night due to late flights, i definitely will be making use of them again, the staff are so professional, smart , helpful and friendly. i will just request a room a little higher up so that one can see the airport.

Cons: nothing, everything was perfect. there was nothing not to like, i loved everything, the shuttle is an extra bonus and on time and so well spoken and helpful and friendly. even the noise was minimal in the rooms, with d black out curtain to allow one to sleep a little longer in the morning
