We had a pleasant stay and would recommend Wayside.
Pros: Hospitable, clean bathroom, plenty of towels, comfortable size room and cozy beds. Fridge and additional daybed. Beautiful gardens well-maintained, lovely communal braai area. Bar was welcoming, providing a refreshing break after a long drive.
Cons: Disturbing outside light that burned all night, no window covering to close that window. Coffee substandard especially if it's the first drink consumed early in the morning. A few rusks would also be a nice have.

Pros: Super Overnight Stay We stayed here on our way to the Kruger. A simple but very welcoming and pleasant accommodation. We had two cottages. Since we arrived late, they kindly prepared a meal just for us β a great steak and the best fries! We felt very comfortable and also received valuable tips for visiting Kruger as well as the Panorama Route.

Comfy, friendly, and accommodating.
Pros: Great place to stay. Friendly, helpful, accommodating staff. The restaurant was great. Room comfy. Yummy steaks. They took care of me with info, food, and attention. The Kruger Hof museum and Boer war graveyard were neat to check out. They got sports going in the reaturant/bar, so that's a good place to rest. You know you're in good hands there.
Cons: Ahh, the heater could have warmed the room better. Wayside was great. Can I get a Wayside caps? ;)

OK for a stopover
Pros: First of all, keep in mind it's pretty cheap you get what you pay for, it's a basic roadside motel. The location as a midway stop between Kruger/JoB is superconvenient just off the highway. The rooms were spacious but basic. A little tired, a little shabby. Except the bed and bedding, which was 4starplus. The TV kind of worked, but the shower was good and hot. Fridge, kettle, air-conditioning all ok. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar sold cold beer and reasonable wine. As a stopover, it worked
Cons: No WiFi on the rooms. Dinner was quite good but overpriced for what it was (by SA standards) And we were just unlucky that there was a big group booked in on some kind of team building course so strange goings on in the communal areas, including a 7am volleyball game on the front lawn.

Pros: We did an overnight on our way to the Kruger, and it was exceptional. The rooms were neat and clean, beds were comfy and the shower was hot. Our host Pierre went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and looked after. We arranged for dinner and breakfast at the lodge, both of which were absolutely superb. Very glad that we came across this gem, very convenient if needing an overnight stop on the way to the Kruger area. Wouldn't think twice to book again.
Cons: The only downside that I can think of, which is obviously not the Lodges' fault, is the proximity to the N4. The traffic noise was quite noisy through the night, however it would not put me off of booking up again.
