Pros: We had a great time at Senalala lodge. The staff is very nice and the guides, as locals, are extremely competent and knowledgeable about the Kruger park, the animals and the flore. The food and drinks are very good and the cottages confortable. Special thanks to Corlia and James for having managed carefully the rains and floods that were forecasted to occur at the end of our stay. I hope that we can come back again.

Cons: None

Pros: Our stay at Senalala Lodge was amazing. The team were so friendly and welcoming and really made our stay. Special mention to James, our guide, who made such an effort on all of the game drives, shared so much information, and was generally lovely to hang out with. The food was so good, with lots of variety at every meal. I was unwell one day and the team were very caring. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Cons: The pool had a lot of dead bugs in it.

Pros: Perfect is all I can say. The staff is so attentive and our designated guide did everything humanly possible to get us to see the big five. It was an awesome experience. Home away from home ♥️

Trip of a lifetime!

Pros: Senalala was the trip of a lifetime for us. The lodge itself is idyllic, with views of the waterhole even from the bed in our room, and a very homely experience (help yourself to drinks, etc any time, cosy communal spaces). The food was delicious, with dedicated vegetarian options for us as well as SA classics such as boerwors in the few days we were there. That said, the true highlight of Senalala was the fantastic team, who were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. Our guide Dawie was fantastic and made our game drives unforgettable. His knowledge across the animals and birds was incredible. Some favourite encounters were a mating couple of leopards, some quality time watching a rhino grazing up close, and a sunset spent with a pride of lions.

Cons: I can't find any faults with our experience - I'll come back to Senalala if I can.

Incredible dream come true

Pros: The staff were amazing. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and able to locate the animals which were always treated with respect. The rooms all face the waterhole where numerous animals came in to drink - elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, warthogs, wildebeests, hyenas and once a rhino. The food was simple but fresh and delicious.

Cons: Having to share it with other guests - my first few days I was the only guest so I got to see a lot more than I would have if there were others there at the same time.

You treated by the hosts as family, not just as customers

Pros: You feel you are really welcome by management and staff. It is very personalised with the guides really explaining in detail all events. Food is quite good, safaris extended, rooms spacious and clean. Lots of genuine care and attention to detail

Cons: nothing to report

Arrive as Guests, leave as friends

Pros: What we’ve found with safari is that you really can be anywhere and pay all the money you want, but animals sightings are luck of the draw. This property is wonderful - simple, clean, not very busy; just 8 rooms (I think!) which means it’s a clam and quiet lodge. The food is delicious and self service & they always cater well for any dietary requirements. It’s all about the wildlife. Gina and Johan are expert guides and so well informed. They manage the expectations of the vehicle and cater for everyone be they first game drives, or their 20th. James and Corlia are the most gracious hosts - you arrive as strangers and leave as friends. Overall one of our most favourite Safari experiences and we have been to a few lodges over the years. Thanks team!

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like about the property- was wonderful!

Senalala is awesome!!!

Pros: Phenomenal lodge and staff with wonderful guides. We loved the small, cozy environment with (amazing!) family-style meals shared with guides and staff and met nothing but incredible people whom we've stayed in touch with. I also appreciated that Senalala places only two people per row in each truck versus the usual three, which gave us more room and mobility to view and also converse more with our guide.
