Bongan Safari Lodge

Pros: The staff is so friendly, Mr Bongan is so much humble and the place is clean 👌 I don't talk of the breakfast it was 👌♥️🥰. Can wait to come again and the location is nicely quite.

Cons: There are no shower caps in the bathroom but it wasn't bad anyway.

Pros: This was a wonderful experience. At first we thought we were lost as the lodge is in a very rural area. But once we found it everything and everyone at Bogan Safari lodge was amazing. The food was excellent and all the staff was above par. And Bongani was an amazing host. Everything was new and clean. There was a huge bath and shower and the beds are really comfortable. I am truly going back someday as I would love to experience their game drives aswell.

Cons: The directions take you to the exact location but there is no direction boards to show you the way. But everything else is so new and clean that I actually forget about this issue.

Pros: Brilliant breakfast buffet, clean rooms, authentic Safari vibes, would highly recommend!

Great gateway stay for Orpen gate, Kruger National Park

Pros: Bongan and his staff are super helpful! The bungalows are large and comfortable, hot showers and bottled water provided. Awesome packed breakfast for early outings to Kruger. The breakfast was generous enough to serve as both breakfast and lunch (boiled eggs, a sandwich, a yogourt, fruit, a muffin and a juice). I loved staying there as it is owned by a local man and it supports the local economy, as opposed to the bigger surrounding lodges that seem owned by venture capital investors on private game reserves. My opinion. The owner also offers braai and safari jeep tours.

Cons: Electricity runs out a couple hours a night (19:00-21:00) and overnight sometimes too (05:00-07:00), but that's not their fault, it's the city's energy management. Just putting it here as a neutral comment for info, as it can be a bit inconvenient if it's really hot as the air conditioning won't work for a while. They do have a generator and they offered to fire it up for us if needed for showers in the morning. Four-star for location: it's a bit hard to find, as it's out in a rural suburb, on a sandy road not marked from the highway. There is nothing in the area for services (gas or restaurants), so everything is a 30 minute drive minimum (Acornhoek mall, gas station or Orpen gate for Kruger National Park).

Pros: Lodge in a peaceful quiet village,perfect for unwinding and recharging those batteries

Pros: Caring host and team Vibe of traditional village Specific African house, though spacious, convenient, well-equipped and well-maintained. Traditional dinner was great.

Cons: We came across the low shedding but finally the lodge’s team sorted everything out successfully. Surroundings don’t seem nice and safe

Pros: The accommodation was spotless and super comfortable. Marilyn and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a treat. Vegan friendly as well.

Pros: Nicely located inside a Village. The Chalets are really comfortable and spacious. The owners even packed US really wholesome breakfast and opened the Gate for us since we Had an early Start to Kruger.
