Thornhill Safari Lodge

Quiet, amazing to see the wildlife and a proper chance to unwind.

Pros: Very remote which felt more authentic for a safari lodge. It was so quiet so allowed for a proper unwind. The manager, Nicole, was super helpful with organising game drives and other activities. The pool was lovely. The food was also great!

Cons: Sometimes I felt like the guide could have offered a little more information.

Amazing villa in a beautiful Safari Lodge

Pros: A fantastic safari lodge just outside Kruger Park. The villa we rented was very spacious, well equipped, and comfortable, making it ideal for a self-catering stay with family or friends. Wildlife sightings in and around the lodge are an added highlight.

Cons: Prolonged power outages may be rare, but the lodge should consider investing in a generator so that during longer outages the restaurant, and ideally the fridge and at least one power outlet in the rooms, can remain operational.

Pros: Loved everything about the venue , especially friendly & reliable staff. They interacted with everyone, we were well received & Whenever we needed assisted, they were readily available & did it with a smile, I highly recommend the venue. My son is still talking about it.

Cons: Nothing, at first we were given a wrong room but the manager handled the situation professionally which takes nothing from my rating of the venue.

Best experience ever, definitely coming again.

Ideal for your Kruger Safari stay.

Pros: Full board food was plentiful and great quality. The bed was supremely comfortable, one of the best I've ever experienced. The staff were very helpful in arranging sight seeing trips and safaris. There were also short trips and massages available at ir near the lodge. Given the quality of the food and location I thought the accommodation was very good value.

Cons: Very little not to like.

Pros: Ideal location amongst the wildlife , great amenities and friendly staff make for a relaxing stay right on the edge of Kruger National Park.

Perfect safari lodge

Pros: Lovely rustic lodge surrounded by ample animals including impala, water buffalo, zebra, giraffe & naughty monkeys. Food was outstanding, the steak cooked to perfection and BIG portion sizes. We enjoyed 2 brai, one much more than the other (perhaps personal taste here tho, not keen on chicken drumsticks… whereas second brai was kebabs - so much better) food was always served restaurant quality. The weather was not on our side so we didn’t get to experience the pool which is a shame and the reason we had elected for a slightly longer stay at Thornhill (our down days when we hoped to relax by the pool we ended up sat in our room to keep warm 🤦‍♀️)

Cons: Some lightweight net curtains or similar at the lodge windows/doors as sometimes it felt a bit like a fishbowl - exposed to the world unless you had the curtains shut. Nothing apart from that. All staff were helpful friendly knowledgeable. Housekeeping perfect. Game drives great.

Pros: They were so accommodating with my families Gluten allergy and need to eat earlier due to our children's ages. Sammy was really friendly and helpful. The family rooms are very spacious and comfortable.
