Vuyani Safari Lodge

Pros: This stay was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Everything — the lodge, the beautifully designed interiors, the outstanding service, and the wonderful staff — exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the room service was exceptionally attentive. Our room was tidied several times a day, which wasn’t even necessary but showed how much care the team puts into their work. The safaris were magical, even though part of the reserve was still closed due to recent flooding. Both the driver and tracker went above and beyond to make every game drive unforgettable.

Cons: The only small suggestion we have would be to provide a central tip box. We would have loved to give something to everyone — waiters, room service, wake-up staff, cooks, trackers, drivers, and those working behind the scenes — but it’s quite difficult to hand out tips individually. A shared box would make it easier to thank the entire team equally.

In any case, I would like to sincerely thank everyone at Vuyani for the excellent reception and hospitality.

Pros: The hotel is fantastic, with excellent staff—very polite and helpful. The food is very good, and the facilities are amazing. The room was exceptional and always spotless.

Cons: I’m not giving a 10 only because we felt that our game drive driver was a bit rude to us on the first day. He didn’t give instructions before we started, and when we apparently did something wrong (which we didn’t know), he reprimanded us in a rude manner. All the guests present agreed with us when we talked about it afterward. Additionally, he didn’t seem very patient or enthusiastic when explaining about the animals. We spoke with the responsible manager only on the second day, and she was amazing—very caring and concerned about us. On the third day, she changed our driver, and with just one drive it was clear that the new one was much better and more polite. I won’t mention names so as not to expose anyone here.

Pros: Everything was amazing. The staff was the friendliest and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Game drives were comprehensive, our guides were very knowledgeable and they worked hard to show us everything but at the pace that we wanted. Everything we ate during the trip was really delicious as well. Overall 10/10 place.

Pros: The best overall safari experience in South Africa. Saw the entire big 5. Even saw some live kills and the ecosystem in place. The all inclusive option definitely keeps you calm. The hosts are excellent at what they do. Even had a boma barbaque on the last day to cap everything off and got into the pool for the sunny day. Definitely one for the books and highly recommended
