Peaceful breakaway

Pros: It’s a gorgeous property in a peaceful part of greater Mabalingwe reserve. The farm manager was friendly warm and professional throughout. The cleaning staff were great, on time and well managed. The house is well appointed and high quality furniture throughout. We were there during a particularly hot weekend and though I enjoy an aircon which the property didn’t have, I felt the house wasn’t overly hot with the thatched roof. We saw loads of animals and the game drive was a particular highlight. Thank you for hosting us.

Cons: If you want to be neared to the action of a restaurant and bar this won’t work for you. We cooked our own meals at night and enjoyed the african night sounds.

Great bush family getaway & downtime!

Pros: The sanctuary had everything we needed, including some fun activities like badminton for the kids. The house & pool were all very clean & the helpers very friendly. Cherime was a fantastic game guide & host, she made us feel very welcome & made our stay very easy!

Exceptional stay

Pros: We had the most incredible stay at this bush lodge. The serenity of the surroundings instantly put us at ease, and the abundance of bird life made each morning feel truly special. It’s one of those rare places that feels almost magical — peaceful, beautiful, and full of character. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and soak in genuine tranquility, I can’t recommend this lodge highly enough. An unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Peaceful location

Pros: The house was very comfortable with lots of space to relax. We loved the fireplace and well-appointed kitchen. It even has a washing machine! We loved the game drives. Cherime did a lot of effort to make sure we saw as many as possible animals. The housecleaning was excellent, too!

Cons: The two bathrooms need a renovation, but everything else was perfect.

Pros: The place has everything one would need. We were in self catering so there were things we thought we wouldn't get but we got everything.

Cons: It's a very big spacious house so it was cold but the fireplace and heater came in very handy. Special request...please post more pics, your place is very beautiful...the current pics are underselling it.

The Sanctuary was exceptional and exceeded our expectations.

Pros: From the time we booked we felt looked after. Firstly by Emma who processed the booking and ensured that anything we required would be available to Cherime who met us at The Sanctuary and did a thorough hand over. We stayed for 3 nights (4 Adults). Accommodation was exceptional, very well maintained and comfortable. Facilities were excellent and included Boma, Lapa with Pool and some activities if needed (Badminton, Volley ball, darts etc). The Boma/Braais were cleaned daily as was the Pool. Cherime took us on a brilliant game drive and the bonus was seeing a Leopard. The watering hole on the fence line regularly attracted a wide range of animals.. Kudu, Warthogs, Wildebeest, Brown Hyena to name a few. Little extras such as wood for the Boma/ Braais, ice, wifi, full Dstv (for the rugby of course) just added to the fantastic experience. Sunsets were spectacular. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. We will be back.
