Karongwe - Becks Safari Lodge

Amazing experience, highly recommended

Pros: Great and exclusive Safari experience in a private reserve. Not as crowded as public reserves. Jack is an amazing guide. Globally, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming

Great Lodge with delicious food, great staff and top game drives!

Pros: A wonderful team of dedicated people, offering fantastic game drives with highly knowledgable guides! Food was very delicious, rooms very clean and comfortable! Evans and James were a joy to spend the weekend with and they made sure we saw the big 5! Evans made us feel incredibly comfortable as he navigates the grounds and was very knowledgeable!

Cons: A few minor suggestions: music in the main area was the same, very dark song played repeatedly which made the ambience a bit eerie. We didn’t know that Gin & Tonics and certain Beers were not included in our rate. This should be made more clear. Also it would be nice to be able to bring G&Ts for example on the game drives as the selection of drinks was limited. The lunch menu could be adjusted to something slightly lighter like adding a salad or soups selection.

A perfect safari stay

Pros: A beautiful lodge, lovely room with excellent facilities and the biggest bed. Kept to a high standard and always super clean. The food was of the highest quality, a lovely pool, and the staff were fantastic. The managers could not have done enough for us during our stay. The customer service and care was second to none. We had the most wonderful time here on our honeymoon with incredible sightings of the big 5. Would highly recommend.

Pros: The whole property is well manage , clean and so inviting , it fits in with the surrounding bush to a tee

A fantastic stay and would love to return

Pros: Had 2 wonderful nights, rooms fantastic, beds comfy. Lovely atmosphere, staff amazing Johann very helpful. Food was amazing and enjoyed the boma night. I celebrated a big birthday and the staff all came singing and brought a delicious choc cake to me. All game drives were fantastic, Jerry our guide was amazing and also Alfred our tracker saw so many wonderful animals. Very cold on drives but they supplied hot water bottles and blankets. Wonderful sitting on the deck for meals and watching all the animals come down to river.Would love to return again one day. Thank you Becks family truly amazing.

Cons: The sign for Becks hard to find from the main road. It was called Karongwe with a small sign for Becks underneath. The drive down to the lodge was quite far and road a bit bumpy.

An unforgettable experience at a gorgeous property!

Pros: This lodge had the wow factor from the moment you walk in . Beautiful decor and lots of smiling staff.The bedroom was stunning very spacious and lots of personal touches that made you feel special. The breakfast was the best I have ever had . Loved sitting with other guests in the eve around the fire pit .The Safari with Stephen exceeded our expectations. His knowledge and demeanour was first class. In fact we find ourselves missing his frequent comments of ‘very nice’ when we spotted anything of any interest😊. He genuinely did his upmost to give you the very best experience and we appreciated that . We never felt it was pre planned or rushed. We were extremely fortunate to see so many animals the highlight for me will always be the Cheetahs.

Cons: Hard to find anything -if I had to be picky I would say the pool are needs a little revamp.

Pros: Our experience at Karongwe Becks Safari Lodge was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and unforgettable. The facilities were top-notch, offering a perfect balance of luxury and authenticity in the heart of the wilderness. Every detail, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the serene common areas, reflected the lodge's commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. The highlight of our stay, however, was undoubtedly the game drives. Our guide, Freddie, was exceptional—his deep knowledge of the wildlife and the ecosystem made every drive an enriching adventure. He effortlessly spotted all the big fives and shared fascinating insights, making the experience both thrilling and educational. The lodge's attention to detail and the team’s passion for hospitality made our trip truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stay and would highly recommend!

Pros: We had such an amazing time at Becks - Johan & Adelina really took care of us so well and we were absolutely spoiled. They really took time to check in with every guests and I really enjoyed the conversations that we had at the lodge. The food was amazing and every meal was so good & you could tell that the team really put alot of effort into the dining experience. The interior of the property was really pretty and cosy - we really enjoyed lounging in our rooms and common areas. The highlight of our stay at Becks was probably the game drives - we were super lucky to get Stefan (guide) and Alfred who were so knowledgable about the bush. While we got to see the animals up & close, I really appreciate how respectful the team was towards these animals. I would highly recommend Becks to anyone who is looking to do a Safari stay and experience. You will not regret it!

Great stay!

Pros: The staff were all so great and friendly! Especially Johan and his wife and our guide Frankie and Gabriel, they made our stay such a comfortable and enjoyable one. Saw all of the big 5 and many other animals like cheetahs foxes, bush babies, giraffes too. Very highly recommend this place as it doesn't have too many guests at once so you feel you have your space too.
