Rukiya Safari Camp

Nestled at the banks of the Blyde river, Rukiya Safari Camp is located in the Wild Rivers Nature Reserve just 20 km outside of Hoedspruit. The tented rooms at the camp are en suite and offer views of the river or the bush. They include a seating area, bed linen and complimentary toiletries. All meals are included and served at the dining area. The camp also has a boma area, and family-style dining and private dinners can also be arranged. Activities such as bush walks and game drives are offered. Hippos, crocodiles, baboons, warthogs and other species of plain game are often seen from the camp itself. The reserve in also home to an abundance of wildlife such as leopards, hyenas, giraffes, zebras and impalas. The closest airport is Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport which is 25 km away.

Pros: main dining area. homely. staff were very friendly , helpful with a personal touch.

Cons: I stayed at the River House. shower area needs better cleaning. house keeping cleaner twice left brooms, detergent etc in room after cleaning.

Pros: The pool, tent, location (in a reserve) was very cool. The staff was very nice and we got a lot of information about the area and animals. And great game drives! With the open 4x4 the views are not blocked perfect for taking pictures

Cons: Maybe the dining chairs and sofa's could be a little bit more comfortable. And, but this is me I am 2 meter, the bed are bit short.

Unbelievable set up in a fantastic location, with the best guides.

Pros: We found Rukiya on someones blog, and it was beyond what we expected. The location, the atmosphere, the food, and the staff were fantastic. The safaris were something else, the guides were awesome at tracking and finding animals, birds and snakes (The Black mamba a particular favourite). If you want a special trip with exceptional guides, with passion and knowledge, look no further, you have found it. Conright the guide, and his prodigies, well you made our stay!

Pros: The service was just excellent from the staff. We did not see the big 5 on game drive but the guides made it worth a while even without the big 5.

Cons: The decking noise, when people are awake early and walking on the wooden decking which made noise as we stayed closer to the pool and lunch area

Pros: A typical and lovely African place with very kind staff. The night safari was a real experience and the food was great!

Very nice lodge with wonderful staff

Pros: extremely friendly and helpful staff! Comfortable tents with very good beds. Good food for lunch and dinner with dietary options. Game drives in the area or, if you look for the big cats, in the greater Kruger area - ranger Wisdom is absolutely amazing!

Cons: For us the tents could be a bit more apart, but probably not every guest sees it that way

Great place to experience games drives with that extra bit of luxery

Pros: Very clean and nice camp and ideal for a game drive ! There is also a beautiful pool where you can relax between game drives. Especially the staff was very kind and they did everything to make our stay just perfect. Also the food was really amazing and the tents where very comfortable! We would definitely come back!

Pros: the riverside location was stunning and the placement of the various tents preserved all privacy and prevented peeking in. The resort itself has plenty of wildlife that can be observed during evening game drives (morning game-drive takes the guest to nearby excellence reserve, with possibility to observe big5). Both breakfast, lunch and dinner offered a varied and nice selection and the service and dining area was well cared for.The morning and evening game drives were handled to perfection by well-versed guides who reassured visitors and whose extensive knowledge of the park's fauna and flora helped make the game drives successful and beautiful experiences.
