Relaxing

Pros: The place is relaxing and the staff just goes an extra mile. I actually wanted to extend my stay but they were fully booked

Cons: The lodge didn’t communicate that we will be living our car at the Welgevonden main gate We arrived around 16:30 but were collected after an hour leading to us arriving at the lodge around 19:00. I didn’t not get my complementary drink, not that it’s important

Exceptional staff and games drive

Pros: Exceptional staff with Patrick as expert guide, the reserve is wonderful, we saw the big five, thanks to Patrick. Really enjoyed the stay, we will come back

An unforgettable and heartwarming stay!

Pros: Sekala is one of the most charming lodges you can find. The whole staff makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive and always go the extra mile. The facilities were clean and exactly what you would expect, and more. Would definitely recommend this lodge to everybody.

Exceptional experience, and the best safari guide.

Pros: Everything!!! The team at Sekala are fabulous ensuring you enjoy your stay. On safari Patrick’s experience and knowledge shine as he does everything possible to get the sightings you are hoping for, and the photos.

Cons: The monkeys!!!! If you leave a door or window open even if you are in the chalet but in the bathroom they will come in and steal food. Unfortunately this means you can’t leave doors or windows open.

It was a wonderful stay, with excellent staff that went out of their way to make our stay unforgett.

Pros: The staff were absolutely fantastic. They made our stay very special.

Cons: They really tried their best to cater for one vegetarian and one pescatarian, but I think their supplies were limited.

Perfect end to our 3 week holiday

Pros: Lovely lodge with traditional layout. Small friendly crew of staff created a welcoming family atmosphere. Excellent game drives with ranger (Thomas) who was knowledgeable in both the natural and the cultural history.
