Outstanding Lodge
Pros: EVERYTHING. Shibula is out of this world. Exceptional.food. Staff are very attentive. You never need to look for them. Lodge is super clean. The games drives were on another level. Malvin is so knowledgeable and patient. We saw every one of the Big Five. We Will definitely be back.

A wonderful Africa Bush experience
Pros: The location of the lodge is next to a river and rock face of a mountain. Ideally suited for game viewing from the lodge itself. The game ranger is very knowledgeable , the game drives were a wonderful experience.

Pros: The facilities and food were fantastic - the staff were so friendly and accommodating - nothing was too much for them. We had international guests with us who had never been on a safari or to South Africa before with us, and they were amazed by the entire experience.

Wonderful Safari stay at Shibula
Pros: Highly recommend this beautifully situated property with game viewing whilst relaxing on the lovely pool deck. Loved our family chalet the was large, nicely furnished and very comfortable with two bathrooms. The food is delicious with a good menu excellently prepared. The staff are all amazing hosts providing exceptional guest care with special thanks to Candice, George, and Bongani who ensured we had a truely wonderful stay. Thanks to guide Malvin for the amazing safaris and great sightings.

Incredible visit with good friends at a stunning lodge - a perfect way to end 2024
Pros: Our stay was a dream! I traveled with 2 of my best friends and we were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived. Nothing was too much for the team at the lodge. They all went out of their way to make our stay memorable - from driving around until we saw all of the unbelievable game on our bucket list, to the incredible food - lots of salad options (perfect for new years resolutions), great quality meals and beautifully prepared, to the comfortable rooms and stunning deck and pool. We can't wait to return.
Cons: Nothing could have been better -the lodge was incredible! Definitely one of the best visits I have ever had at the reserve. The staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home

Most luxurious and relaxing
Pros: Every detail was paid attention to. The main lodge and the lodge cabins are beautifully designed and in excellent state. The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious. Drinks are very affordable. Game drives are comfortable, educative and fun and Malvin is an experienced ranger. The pool is fabulous and so large and clean you want to swim laps all afternoon. I can’t think of anything thay needs to be improved. We were there just before Christmas 2024 with 4 teen/adult children.

Simply excellent bush experience!
Pros: Excellent team of staff, delicious food, very comfortable rooms and communal areas. Our game drives were amazing, we saw so much! Every time we went out, we came back having seen another amazing encounter. The animals coming down to drink in front of the lodge was such an added bonus!
Cons: No negative comments, it's just expensive for rand-based, local visitors.

Wonderful experience
Pros: The lodge is lovely and comfortable. The fireplace on in the evening, water bottle on the night stand and the slippers by the bed at night were extra welcoming. Malvin was an excellent guide, very experienced, attentive, and dedicated to finding the animals we wanted to see. George and Bongani took great care of us, making sure we were always comfortable, and never hungry or thirsty. Chef Sophie and the team delivered quite high quality cuisine, tasty and varied dishes, the highlight being the Braai.
Cons: Suggestions, have the cold breakfast a la carte instead of bringing all to the table, and slightly increase water pressure in shower instead of saving so much solar heated water.

An exceptional Lodge, authentic African style with heart ❤️
Pros: Everything. The kindness of all the staff and the Manager. An excellent cuisine prepared every day from a top Cheffe and her colleague. A great Ranger, so qualified, who did fantastic drives with us. It was much better as we expected! Will definitely come back. Thank you so much to all the Team.
