Kruger Untamed - Tshokwane River Camp

Amazing experience, staying in the middle of Kruger on a river bed, didn't want to leave!

Pros: What an amazing place, to be able to stay in the middle of Kruger on a river bed, is an absolutely amazing experience! The game drives and bush walk were absolutely amazing and the guides were super knowledgeable and professional (the best safaris we had in all of Kruger). Food was really good as well and all the staff was super friendly and helpful! The glamping adds to the whole experience and then being able to dip in the pool in between game drives is surreal. Needless to say, we didn't want to leave.

Pros: The service was excellent, the staff members were friendly and dedicated to their job to make your stay pleasant and unforgetabble. The communal areas are beautiful decorated and have a great ambience. We enjoyed sitting around the fire with our fellow guests. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. The game drives were excellent - what a pleasure to have had Simon as our guide and spotter. It was a great experience!

Lack luster experience at Tshokwane river camp

Pros: The camp was good and comfortable. Some of the guides were knowledgeable and offered great game drives but overall, it does not compare to the quality and service that we found at satara plains.

Cons: The camp was ok but not exceptional. The food was ok. Everything was over salty. The service was ok but once again not exceptional. The toilets were not not functionning properly, the showers were not set up properly with the ladder pushing into the tent and the bag not hanging properly over the shower opening forcing us to Jimmy rig the shower and move the ladder every day. The game drive with Nathan was the worse game drive we have experienced. He was only paying attention to one guest, was not spotting any animal, his knowledge of the wildlife is sub par and made up answers to questions, drive fast and misses most sightings. The drive was also interrupted in the middle to go pick up a guest that was not even there and missed at least a 1/3 of the drive and raced to get to the snack/drink spot... drink requests for the drive were not consistent and often drinks were missing. Fortunately Mishak and Forgive saved the game drives for us and gave us amazing drives! Thank you to both. Although we had a good time, it was not the same outstanding experience we experienced at Satara plains...

Pros: Super Erlebnis! Wer die chemische Toilette in Kauf nimmt wird grossen Spass haben an der Zeltunterkunft! Das Personal ist herausragend freundlich und die Lage des Camps ist super!

Cons: Toll wäre, wenn Selbstfahrer bis zum Camp mit dem eigenen Auto fahren könnten. Sonst ist alles perfekt.

Pros: Je recommande à 100% ce camp ! L’accueil était impeccable et la bienveillance de l’équipe était remarquable! Les tentes sont très confortables avec un espace chambre, un espace dressing et un espace salle de bain. Nous avons très bien mangés et tout était à volonté, boissons comprises (vin, bière cocktail également) ! Un grand plus pour les safaris, avec deux safaris de 2-3h par jour ! C’était magique !
